STASJ stumbled onto the title Soft Forces when a seriously ill friend asked her to put the poem Zachte Krachten by Henriette Roland Holst to music. 'That really touched me', Janssen explains. 'That’s an essential part of my life; the idea that your adversity and negativity can be overcome with a soft and gentle force. You can either fight or struggle against something, but also approach the same things with a sense of trust and positivity.'
